Gene plays lead guitar and sings both backgrounds and lead vocals. At the age of 17 he was personally contacted by Ozzy Ozborne about joining his touring band. The following year CBS released "Destiny". He has appeared on MTV, and his song "First Love" made it to #7 on the countdown. Although his main influences on guitar are Randy Rhodes and Eddie Van Halen, his style is both heavy and bluesy with a touch of Jazz. Gene's favorite vocalists range from Journey's Steve Perry to Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder. Gene's band "Marchello" opened shows for Ozzy, Meatloaf, and Extreme while on a national tour in 1989.

Gene is a truly amazing player. At times some people say they see smoke coming from the frets!

Gene has recorded a CD of his originals called "Ride Our Senses" with Stefan, under the band name of "Zone" and, they often play some of these songs at The Good Rats shows.
